Garage door repairs & service in Toronto

A door in balance lifts light with one hand.

Balance Point is a garage door service for Toronto and the bay suburbs around it. Springs, cables, tracks and openers on the doors this town already has, and measured quotes for the ones it needs next. We test before we talk, and no price is ever guessed from a web page.

If you're muscling it, it's wrong.

A garage door raised part-way with its bottom edge dead level, plainly holding its position, while a technician stands beside it watching, on a quiet Toronto driveway in early morning light

The test we're named for

The first thing a technician does at your door has no tools in it. Disconnect the opener, lift the door to halfway, let go. A door in balance holds there, resting on its spring. A door out of balance falls, or climbs, and that is the spring talking, not your arm and not the opener.

Everything we do starts from that reading. It tells us whether a heavy door needs tension, new springs, or is telling a longer story about its cables and rollers.

If your door doesn't hold, stop using it and get in touch. Spring tension is not a home job, and a door that falls is a door that falls on something.

Walk the test against your door

Two ways people arrive here

The door has failed

A bang from the garage and now it won't lift. Off its track. Slammed down and stayed there, with the car on the wrong side before work. This is the urgent path, and it goes first in the day's run.

Don't force a failed door, and don't unbolt anything near the spring. Tell us what happened and where the door is sitting.

The door is due

An original tilt door on its last season, a renovation on a sloping block, a sectional you've been thinking about for a year. This path is measured, literally. We look at the opening, the headroom and the site, then quote the door that fits.

No showroom pressure and no figure invented before we've stood in the garage.

The western shore is the patch

We work the bay suburbs around Toronto, and the minutes below are real road minutes from the town centre, not crow-flies guesses. The lake decides the routes out here, so some near neighbours are honest drives.

Carey Bay19 min
Awaba22 min
Rathmines25 min

Rathmines is the honest surprise: barely five kilometres across the water, twenty-five minutes by road, because the lake sits in the middle. We plan the run accordingly, and we say so rather than promising minutes we can't drive. More on every suburb on the areas page.

Built for the lake's most experienced hands

Toronto is one of the oldest markets on Lake Macquarie. The ABS Census puts the Toronto and Awaba area's median age at 48, a decade above the national figure, and a lot of the doors here have been working as long as their owners have.

That changes what good service looks like. A door that's gone heavy isn't an annoyance out here, it's a shoulder injury waiting at seven in the morning, or a car trapped before an appointment. So we set doors up to run light to the hand, we suggest opener conversions where they genuinely help, and we explain the finding in plain words with no upsell attached.

The work itself is done properly: repairs by a trained garage door technician, and any opener mains wiring confirmed on site and handled by a licensed electrician.

Tell us about the door

Say what it's doing in your own words. Gone heavy, off its track, slammed shut, or just due for a look, it all makes sense to us. You'll get a call back on the number you leave, and a plain answer when we're standing in front of it.

We don't publish a phone number while the books are this new. The form is the front door, and it goes straight to a person, not a queue.

Prefer a bigger form, or want to attach a photo? Use the full enquiry page.

Nothing is priced from this form. We read it, we call you, and any figure comes after we've seen the door.
